Henry
(Harry) (Henery) DAGG was born on
25 Feb 1836 in Marylebone. He was christened
on 26 Nov 1837 in All
Souls Church, Langham Place, N.W. London, ST MARYLEBONE. By 1857
he was living at 12 Noel Street near Soho in London Middlesex
and working as a baker.. He was just around the corner from 41 Poland Street
where the Carnell family lived. He married Sarah CARNELL
on 15 Mar 1857 in St James Church
Piccadilly, Westminster.
Henry
was also called Harry and was counted in a census in 1861
at 41 Great Titchfield Street, Marylebone, All Souls. He was next counted in
a census in 1871 at 32 Upper Marylebone Street (now called
New Cavendish Street) Marylebone. This is where his father William was living
and where his mother Martha had died. Henry was then counted in a census
in 1881 at 17 Watts Lane, Teddington. He was listed as employed
as a Baker. He was counted in a census
in 1891 living at 55 Delorme Street, Fulham, London Middlesex
and his employment was now listed as "painter". He was also listed
as employed as a Painter on his son William and Martha Snoad's
Marriage certificate in 1894 . When Henry was counted in a census
in 1901 at 28 Haldene Road, Fulham he was residing with the Bannerman
family and is listed as "Painter-House" he declares himself to be
single, however his wife Sarah living with their youngest daughter Harriet declares
herself to be married. He had been living
at 37, Iffley Road, Hammersmith when he died
on 27 Apr 1908 in the Fulham Infirmary (see picture above
left).He was 74 years old when he died and his occupation was listed as:-
House painter, journeyman. The cause of death was Aortic regurgitation, cardiac
dilation and failure, certified by R J Waugh, MB. The informant was S(arah)
Stinchcombe, daughter of 49, Lochaline Street, Fulham.
Henry Dagg and Sarah Carnell had the following children:
