The Petition of Sidney Herbert Dagg of 78 Charlotte Street Portland Place in the county of Middlesex - Photographer’s assistant (This was the address of his Maternal aunt Miss Caroline Carnell for over 10 years he was not listed there in the 1891 census so it may have been a post restante)Sheweth
1 That on or about the 12 day of January 1883 your petitioner was lawfully married to Frances Dagg then Frances Harris Spinster at the Wesleyan Chapel Conway Road Canton in the district of Cardiff in the counties of Glamorgan and Monmouth2 That after the said marriage your petitioner lived an cohabited with the said Frances Dagg at divers places and at Cardiff aforesaid and at Windsor in the county of Berks and that there is issue of the said marriage two children to wit Sidney Francis Dagg born on the 3rd day of September 1883 and William Reginald Dagg born on the 23rd day of October 1884
That on divers occasionsin the years 1885 and 1886 the said Frances Dagg committed adultery with a man whose name is unknown to your petitioner and that in the month of march 1886 your petitioner separated from the said Frances Dagg in consequence of her confessing to him that she had been guilty of adultury with the said man and that your petitioner has never since lived and cohabited with her
4 That in the year 1889 the said Frances Dagg committed adultury with some man whose name is unknown to your petitioner and on the 26th day of November 1889 at No 2 Leckwith Road Canton Cardiff aforesaid the said Frances Dagg gave birth to a child of which your petitioner was not the father
5 That since the 17 day of November 1890 the said Frances Dagg has lived and cohabited and has habitually committed adultery with David Sanderson at divers places and at No 20 Worcester Street Higher Broughton Manchester in the county of LancasterYour petitioner therefore humbly prays that your Lordship will be pleased to dissolve this marriage with the said Frances Dagg and to order that he may have the custody of the children of the said marriage and to order that the said Frances Dagg who is possessed of separate property shall pay the costs of and incident to this petition and that he may have such further and other relief in the premises as your Lordship may deem meet.
