He died¹ on 31 May 1882 in Padding Workhouse infirmiary Paddington. The cause of death was stricture, enlarged prostate and chronic bronchitis. Listing for 29 year old Louisa in the 1871 census.

Caroline Carnell never married and left a will bequeathing her property to her nieces.

The Will was made 5 July 1921 and amended by codicil 5 October 1922.

The first clause appoints a firm of solicitors in Soho Square as executors, but with the codicil Caroline changed this in the autumn before she died. This suggests that Lavinia might have been caring for her at this stage.
The Will consists of two main gift clauses:
Extracts: Let it be known that Caroline Carnell of 64, Talgarth Mansions, West Kensington in the county of Middlesex Spinster who died there on 6th July 1923 and be it further known that at the date hereunder written the last Will and Testament with a codicil of the said deceased was proved and registered in the Principle Probate Registry of the High Court of Justice ................ probate to Lavinia Carson Cox ****of 64 Talgarth Mansions aforesaid (wife of Walter Cox) neice of the deceased and sole executrix.

Caroline never married but maintained a lifelong friendship with Sarah Emma Altibon also born c1809. Known as Emma she was born in Paddington

DEATH: He left a will with a codicil which was proved at London on 17 March 1834 - James Worsley of Brighthelmstone (Brighton) was the Executor. It was witnessed by G Cocksedge Solicitor of Brighton and Thos. Thompson his clerk.
John was living at Edward Street, Brightonhelmstone (Brighton) at time of making Will.

John Worsley baker of Brighton was ordered to pay maintenance for his grandchildren Jemima and George Worsley 24 Jan 1826.
IGI shows Jemima Worsley born 29 May 1817 Wadhurst to George & Elizabeth Worsley. Can't find a George, or anything regarding George & Elizabeth, but I guess we can pencil George snr. in as one of the missing children of John & Mary, obviously dead prior to 1826.
I did find a George Worsley born ca. 1810 at Beckley in census up to about 1891. Don't know if it could be him. He married Lydia and had a daughter Lydia b. 1845 at Benenden- married name Rootes. George lived with this daughter after he was widowed. I wondered if he could be Jemima's brother.
This puts John in Brighton in 1826 which is around the time I guessed they moved from Wadhurst/Ticehurst.
I also found a removal order for Jane Worsley single woman from Wadhurst to Ticehurst 11 June 1822, meaning she had permission to change parishes from the church
